Grandma's In The Big House

Carter--Mom, I want to go and visit Grandma Great. You know, the one that lives in the really, really, really big house.

Me--Actually Grandma Great is in assisted living, that's why her house is so big.

(And just as a side note: When we told Carter we were having another baby his only request was that we have a baby this time that doesn't scratch.) He's so funny.

Baby News!!

We're Having Another...

BOY!!

We had an ultrasound today. Ultrasounds are 57% more fun with 4 kids in the room, I'm actually being serious. They were hilarious. We prepped the boys before saying, "The lady is going to take a picture between the baby's legs and if there is a penis, it's a boy...if there is no penis it's a girl."

Matthew wanted a baby boy, Mason and Carter wanted a girl, and Avery laughed at anyone talking to her. No help from her.

As soon as the tech got the "money shot," Matthew shouted, "Hey, him has a penis!!"
We have high hopes for Matt. He'll either be a doctor or a pervert.

This next picture pretty much sums up Avery Rae's reaction to the news....

Mason's 1st Bully...and it's a Girl!

I know I shouldn't find this funny...but I kinda do.
Mason got this letter from a girl in his kindergarten class yesterday. He explained to me that she said that he should "com to my has" (translation: come to her house) because when he does she's going to cut him with a big knife. Thus the picture depicts her (the red stick figure) cutting him (the amoeba type).
And I thought we lived in a good neighborhood.
Like I said, I find the picture a little funny. Probably because it's not my sick, demented kid drawing it. Rest assured, I took the picture in this morning to Mason's teacher to have her address the situation.

I Love Twins!!

This is my favorite twin story.
This happened about a year ago, but it still is my favorite.

I said to the boys, "Hey Matthew and Carter these babies are twins. That means they were both babies in their mommy's tummy at the exact same time. Isn't that cool?"
They both had wide open eyes and mouths and said, "No Way."
So then I asked them, "Do you guys know any other twins?"
To which they both agreed they didn't know any twins.
That's when we first taught them that they were twins, a little late I know.

Isn't she precious?

Avery found something last night she wanted to share with you.

The best part was watching her wipe it on Rob's pillow.

Hogle Zoo

The last Wednesday of each month during the winter is free admission at the Hogle Zoo. I wanted to surprise the kids so I stayed up late on Tuesday and packed sack lunches and snow clothes into the van. We picked Mason up from school and drove up to Hogle Zoo. The kids had a blast. Most favorites were monkeys, snakes, zebras, and giraffes.

The kids even rode the zoo's carousel.

Mr Happy

Mason likes to draw Mr Happy from his favorite shirt. He's done it a few times but today he added his name at the bottom of the drawing. Weird, though, because he wrote Mr Happy backwards like this "YPPAH RM."
So I asked him why he wrote it that way and he looked down at his shirt and said, "Cause that's the way they wrote it on my shirt." He might be repeating kindergarten.
